Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 August 2026

ValHub ([Legal entity], ABN [ABN]) operates an invitation-only network that connects owners of commercial property with independent valuation firms. We coordinate valuations; the panel firms prepare them. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and disclose it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

1. Information we collect

We collect the information you give us and information generated as you use the service, including:

  • Property and request details — the property address, property type and asset class, floor and site area, occupancy, the purpose and timing of the valuation, and any features you describe.
  • Contact details — your name, email address and phone number, and (if you choose to name them) your accountant or adviser's details.
  • Correspondence — messages you exchange with us or, once you appoint a valuer, with that valuer through the platform.
  • Technical and usage data — IP address, device and browser information, and pages visited, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see “Cookies” below).

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, sensitive information (such as health or government identifiers) unless it is genuinely necessary for a valuation.

2. How we use your information

  • To match your request to suitable panel valuers based on asset class, location and availability.
  • To coordinate the request — inviting valuers to quote, relaying quotes back to you, and passing your appointed valuer the details they need.
  • To communicate with you about your request, including sending the secure access code you use to retrieve it.
  • To operate, secure, support and improve the service, and to keep records.
  • To meet legal, regulatory and tax obligations, and to resolve disputes.

3. Confidentiality and masking

Your details are shown only to valuers we invite to your request, and only to the extent they need them to quote. Your identity and the exact property address stay masked until you choose to appoint a valuer; they are revealed to that valuer only when you appoint them. We do not run a public listing of your request.

4. Who we disclose it to

We disclose personal information to:

  • Invited panel valuers and the firm you ultimately appoint, as described above.
  • Service providers who help us run the platform (for example hosting, email delivery and analytics), under confidentiality obligations and only for those purposes.
  • Regulators, courts or other parties where required or authorised by law.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not disclose it for third-party advertising.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working (for example, to hold your session) and to understand how it is used so we can improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect how the site functions.

6. Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure — including access controls, encryption in transit, and limiting who can see your details. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes above, or as required by law (for example, records connected with an engagement or referral). When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to de-identify or securely destroy it.

8. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers may store or process information outside Australia [list countries]. Where they do, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the APPs.

9. Your rights

You may ask us to access or correct the personal information we hold about you. We will respond within a reasonable period and may need to verify your identity first. There is generally no charge for making a request, though we may charge for reasonable costs of giving access.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available here, and the “last updated” date above shows when it last changed.

11. Contact us and complaints

To make a privacy request or complaint, contact us at [email protected] [postal address]. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it promptly. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
